Stoked on Valentine’s Day!

I am creating this post since I finished my tasks for our thesis draft already (Yay!) We will be retrieving our beloved robot tomorrow morning! I am having mixed emotions, we only got one day for testing. Talk about cramming… and I am blabbing off topic already. Haha!

So, about Valentine’s day… Ken and I celebrate our love for each other every single day of the year, but there’s something about Valentine’s day which makes that one day more special. Love is felt everywhere. Hearts all over the world <3

Feb 14, 2011. Last year, Ken stayed in Cebu for his internship and I was left here in Manila. And our big V Day plan was, to skype! Hahaha! Imagine my surprise when a bouquet of flowers was delivered to my doorstep early that morning all the way from Cebu! I was super kiliiiiiiiiiiig!!! :”>

Aren’t they beautiful? I am in love with Stargazers! They are my favorite!

Fast forward to February 14, 2012. We didn’t expect that V day will fall on the week of thesis draft deadline. We had so much tasks to do but we both made sure to make time and allot this day for each other since we didn’t have the chance to, last year and we barely see each other for the past weeks due to our thesis.

Anyway, We ditched the romantic dinner and went surfing instead. My boyfriend is in to long boarding and surfing. He radiates happiness when he’s riding which I’ve always adored about him. :)

We stopped by Sophie’s Mom first to buy some pastries to eat on the road :)

Bare face. No make-up! :|

Surfing 101! We went to Club Manila East. For newbies like me, learning how to surf on a pool first, is advised. Since the waves are controlled and regulated, it’s much safer than the beach (sharks, boulders, salt water, uncontrolled environment, icky sea creatures) . We availed surfing lessons from Coach Ejay Ventura. He’s super nice, funny, humble, and he taught us well! :)

Ken refuses to cut his hair until he finish their thesis.

I know, this rash guard doesn’t fit me at all :))

First we learn the basics for beginners- parts of the board, surf board handling, safety measures, paddling, catching waves, standing and correct stance, etc.

Then we’re off to the beach waves pool already. It was my first time and I was so scared to make a fool of myself or drown or die! Hahaha!

The board was too heavy for my skinny arms :|

My second attempt and I managed to stand on my surfboard already! Wuhoo! It was such an overwhelming feeling!

Ken was effortless, he was dancing on the board :”>

Stoked!!!

Rode all the way til I reached the shore! Weee!

Wipe out? hahaha!

Weaklings :)) 5 minutes rest.  Paddling was tiring. I am blogging with sore muscles now. :/

With Coach Ejay :)

After 2 hours of surfing, we strolled around the resort to check more of their amenities.

Odd choice to spend Valentine’s day on a water park but hey, we avoided the crowded malls and restaurants. The day was serene and peaceful. Perfect choice to escape stress in draManila! Haha! We had tons of fun and I learned how to surf and didn’t drown or die! Yay for me!

This is my bouquet this year! My boyfriend knows me well :) He purchased this chocolate bouquet from Maitre Chocolatier :)

A dozen Ferrero Rochers :)

There’s a cute little Teddy Bear too!

He did it again! I can’t  think of a better way this day could’ve been spent! I love you so much Kenneth Sia, you’re amazing! :)
